Should I Use Gas Or Electric Water Heaters?

One choice that you may be forced to make is between the types of water heaters that you want to use in your home. You have the option of choosing between gas or electric.
The decision as to what type of water heater to obtain will depend upon your homes location as well as the design of your dwelling. A few other factors that may influence your decision is your budget and the average cost of energy around where you reside.

The cost for the gas units is based more off of the fact if you have a unit with a tank, or a unit that is tankless. The tankless units are usually a little bit more expensive then the units that have a tank attached to them.
The gas units run off of gas obviously, as well as liquid propane. Many stores have liquid propane readily available, however if you live a far distance away from the nearest store, you may want to look into obtaining an electric water heater.
In fact, there are a lot of newer homes that are being built with the electric water heaters already in place. Most of the apartments and condos have electric water heaters also.
Gas is actually being pushed aside as the norm, and making way for the electric wave. More people believe that with gas appliances more accidents are prone to happen. Although, studies have shown that gas is responsible for more fires, this could be why electric is gradually replacing all of our gas appliances.
