New Patio Heaters Are Less Damaging to the Environment
Ever since the first release of patio heater, there have always been select groups that argued against the use of them. The most common complaint against them is that they are bad for the environment, due to the way they generate the heat. Other complaints are that they waste too much heat and that they are generally a waste of energy.
The most common of complaints, that they damage the environment, is true. Standard patio heaters generate their heat by burning propane gas. As with everything that is burned, carbon dioxide is created in the process, which causes damage to the environment.
The second complaint that they waste heat is also true. Despite the tops of patio heaters being designed to reflect heat so it goes towards the ground, a large amount of heat is still wasted.
However, with all that in mind, a heating company called Chillchaser has developed some brand new patio heaters that look to solve all of the above issues.
Rather than using a standard method of generating hear, Chillchaser have come up with a new way to do it. They use a series of carbon fibre rods to generate the heat. The advantage of using carbon fibre heating is that it emits absolutely no CO2 gas. You might think that this means it has no effect on the environment, however, it doesn’t quite. Because these heaters don’t use gas, they require electricity to power the carbon rods, however, the actual eneregy required is very little so they actually only release 50% of the emissions that a standard patio heater would.
This new method of generating heat within patio heaters also combats the second complaint, that lots of heat is wasted. Carbon fibre heating is able to create heat that’s more focused, this means that less heat is wasted in the process.
The final advantage Chillchasers new heaters have is that they are fitted with an infrared sensor. The sensor detects movement and turns the heater off when no movement is detected. This feature means that less heat is wasted if the heater is ever forgotten about.
From the looks of these new patio heaters, Chillchaser have managed to revolutionse patio heaters and many eco-friendly people won’t be able to complain about these heaters. I suppose that the only complain that there would be is that there is no need for patio heaters in the first place, which Chillchaser can’t solve.
It would be good to see what Chillchaser would do with a standarddehumidifiers; maybe build in a weather station to it, that would solve two problems in one.
